Writing

This year I will be focusing on more writing in my classroom. We use the program Simple Six in our school corporation. Simple Six is used to help our students write to a prompt that they would find on the state test, ISTEP+. We have been working on the 15 Day Plan since the second week of school to review Simple Six.

We will be working on Simple Six prompts during the even weeks. On the odd weeks, we will be working on different types of writing such as poetry, descriptive writing, narrative writings, reports, speeches, and more. The students will also be encouraged to do free writing during writing stations during our literacy block. Students will be writing letters and writing chapter notes during guided reading.

On this page, you will find links to PDFs that I have created to use in my classroom. I have also posted pictures of our writing station and other writing activities that we are working on in class.
